I’m so glad you stopped by! Allow me to introduce myself. I am an entertainment attorney, writer, speaker, co-founder of The Auditory Museum - a company specializing in communication and storytelling, and the creator of the women’s empowerment platform Femme 4Ward.
I graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, and received my bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in 2011 with a major in political science, specifically focusing on politics in the media.
I grew up in the small town of Manassas, Virginia, but in 2016 I packed up my car and moved across the country to Los Angeles, California - talk about a culture shock!
I believe that storytelling is the foundation of human EMPATHY and CONNECTION, and has the power to CREATE MEANINGFUL CHANGE.
I am particularly fascinated with the effect of media consumption on culture, race, gender and politics.
I love YA and children’s literature. I also love all things Disney. I frequently recite Harry Potter lines in a British accent, just because. I am in an open relationship with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. I eat carne asada tacos at least once a week. My favorite television show is Charmed, and my favorite book is Matilda (okay... I might have a slight magic obsession). I'm also a sucker for a good Rom Com. The Notebook, anyone?!
More than anything in the world, I love to write: novels, picture books, poems, scripts, lengthy texts messages, Instagram bios - you name it!
As a former Huffington Post contributor, I have published an extensive number of op-eds on topics ranging from the complexities of feminism to the awkward feeling of being the only Black girl in the room. In 2015, LinkedIn named me one of the top 10 writers of the year after President Obama personally responded to one of my articles about student loans.
In 2017, I was featured as part of the Inspirational Women’s Project as featured in the Huffington Post.
In January of 2019, I was featured in Forbes magazine (Mama, I made it!), and I shared awesome tips to help women in Hollywood navigate successfully in business.
In March of 2019, I had the opportunity to speak at SXSW about the importance of protecting your brand.
In May of 2019, I was featured in Oprah Magazine as one of the creators of Beyonce’s #BeforeILetGoChallenge.
I have had a pretty incredible career, and have worked for amazing companies in different capacities including: FabFitFun, the Creative Artists Agency, the FCC, PBS, MTV Networks, Fox News Networks, and Disney ABC Television Networks. I am currently a member of the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel’s Emerging Leaders Board.
Let’s stay in touch, okay?
